From Mim (Music in May):
For our 5th anniversary, Mim is commissioning Composer Polina Nazaykinskaya to write a piece for string quartet, clarinet and two pianos, inspired by the miraculous life of David Arben – former associate concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra and holocaust survivor.
A truly phenomenal man with a phenomenal story. I’ve never witnessed chamber music live, but that night was inspiring. The entire performance was raw and emotional. I don’t think I’ll ever forget it.
Well worth the trouble of getting there and getting back.
